Yesterday, Chen and I had the opportunity to discuss the findings from our research report on the second year of climate-related disclosures by banks and insurers during a webinar hosted by CPA Australia.

It was encouraging to see more than 150 participants join the session and engage in a thoughtful discussion moderated by Sagar Adhau (Director Audit Sustainability at Grant Thornton). The conversation explored how climate reporting is evolving as organisations move beyond the initial implementation phase of mandatory reporting.

Some of the key questions discussed included:

• Has mandatory reporting shifted organisations from leadership to compliance?
• Are disclosures becoming more useful, or simply more compliant?
• How might climate assurance evolve?
