Joe has spent more than twenty years in the recruitment industry largely consulting across the Financial Services landscape, both in New Zealand and London. Trained in an executive search environment, he has an “all-routes-to-market” philosophy which enables him to harness various sourcing methodologies to deliver successful outcomes. He is particularly adept in networking, headhunting and providing bespoke solutions for different recruitment challenges.

For ten years he recruited and led teams that serviced investment banks and asset management companies in finding a range of part qualified and qualified accountants, including product controllers, financial and management accountants, internal auditors and fund accountants. During this time, he also account-managed a large European investment bank RPO function and was involved in selling RPO and MSP solutions to a range of blue-chip companies.

Since moving to Auckland in 2016, his focus has been on Risk, Compliance, Credit, and Assurance, predominantly within Financial Services, but he has extended this to Telecommunications, Professional Services, Retail, and beyond. He has worked with and placed candidates in all the major banks and served as a sole provider for a local bank over a two-year period across multiple functions. He has also placed three of the four Chief Risk Officers at Chinese banks based in New Zealand. In 2019, Joe launched the first GRC-focused recruiting desk of its kind here and embraced the use of video technology, market updates, and social media to highlight his expertise in finding hard-to-reach candidates.
